Who- Only 40 cadets. First come, but based on factors such as passing JROTC, failing good grades, participation within the unit. Must turn in parental consent by Friday Sep 6, 2024

On Wednesday September 11, 2024, Lakeside JROTC will participate in the anniversary of the 9-11 Attacks Stone Mountain Hike. This year, we will complete the 2-mile (roundtrip) up the mountain trail at Stone Mountain Memorial Park Stone Mountain, GA. We will depart from the school at 9:00am and return by 1:30pm.

Cadets will wear comfortable hiking attire. Because of the distance and terrain of the hike, proper footwear is essential. Following the trip, each student will share with the class their experience, discussing the highlights of the trip, what they learned, and how it’s applicable to them.

Each cadet will be required to turn in a permission slip signed by their parents/guardians and each teacher from 1st, 3rd and 5th period. The completed permission slip must be turned in by Friday September 6, 2024.

There is no fee for this trip. Snacks and water will be provided. Cadets should bring light snacks and water bottles. Students are expected to extend full cooperation regarding dress requirements, safety, conduct and courtesy.
